The best striker in football history of all times – Platini & Ronaldo

The creativity and imagination that embody the beautiful game of football or soccer would make it an art form. What separates football from most other sports is the independence and raw expression awarded to the players. While baseball players and cricketers are restricted to particular moves, footballers may shoot, pass, tackle or dribble the ball in any mixture of ways, providing the most talented players the ability to reach the very summit of the game.

Michel Platini was an attacking midfielder, totaling 353 goals in only 652 games. He was an outstanding passer and free-kick taker, but he combined this with ferocious goal-scoring talent. Almost single-handedly, he escorted France to the 1984 European Championships, scoring nine goals in the process. He lifted the European Cup with Juventus, and he also won three league titles in his club career.

Cristiano Ronaldo was just a precociously talented kid in Sporting CP, and was discovered by Sir Alex Ferguson. The Portuguese superstar first cemented his legacy with Manchester United as one of the most famous players of our generation.

Ronaldo’s fierce determination paired with his grit and energy along is what set him with the supremes. He has become the single most recognizable name in world football today. While he made a name for himself as a global superstar with Manchester United, it is at Real Madrid where his status was elevated as an all-time great. Be it scoring the last penalty in a Champions League final penalty shoot-out or scoring a crucial goal in the Euro 2016 semi-final, Ronaldo has proved himself time and again as a vital player in the game.

On top of his game for close to 16 years now, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has proceeded to rack up the goals for Juventus after swapping Madrid for Turin in the summer of 2018.
